The Mastoid is the bone behind and around the ear. It contains air cells, and these cells can often get infected. This in turn acts as a reservoir of infection leading to persistent ear infection. In such instances, infection from mastoid air cells has to be removed by mastoidectomy. This is an intricate procedure aimed at the removal of infection from the mastoid air cells, with the reconstruction of the hearing apparatus, Our center has to date performed over 2500 mastoidectomies
